About The Avalon Art & Cultural Event Center*
The Avalon Art and Cultural Event Center, located at 3925 Ohio Street. In a artistic comunity of sunny San Diego, California called North Park. North Park is fast becoming the Art & Entertainment capital of San Diego. With the largest monthly Art walk, Ray at Night and the Anual Indie Music Fest. The Avalon sits almost in the middle of both events. The Avalon is a privately owned venue that promotes up and coming local Artist & Musicians. The Avalon is not a bar therefore, those who come to play and enjoy can do so without interruption.
The venue is housed in a 8000 square foot historic old lumber mill just filled with creative energy, parts of the building dating back almost 100 years.
The Avalon Art & Cultural Event Center was created to support, express and display both visual and performing arts as achieved through multiple platforms, whether it be performing or creating the Avalon has many different ways to see it threw. From a full prepress printing lab or a professional recording/ photo studio or even a solid concrete bank vault upgraded to a fantastic isolation sound booth. It’s Avalon’s goal to serve as a catalyst for emerging local artists and musicians.
Like any work of art, the Avalon’s mission can be expressed through many different forms and media, hence the multiplatform approach.
Whether viewing an exhibition in the gallery area, enjoying a live concert or watching a film the vision remains the same. Supporting global wellness and harmony through art and music.
If parts of this description might seem familiar to you, there once was a venue very much like ours in North Park called the San Diego Arts and Entertainment Center, owned by Troy Washington. A lot of what you read here was taken directly from his web page. It’s our desire to continue with his dreams.
