do not allow physical violence at anytime. You can say whatever you
want to anyone during Game Play, we even encourage it! but you may not
take that aggression to a physical level.
- Friends
on the "inside"
(No walk in traffic unless its someone we can trust.) We really want
it to feel like a open environment. But because of the growth and popularity
of TechBattle, we now need to make sure there are no strangers. If you
want to bring a guest we don't know, again make sure its someone we
can trust.

the party
Any problems that arise during the party must be resolved without disrupting
the party itself
- Don't

- Don't
go into parts of the house you don't belong. Bedrooms, Garage, or Marc's
office.
(Everyone expects you to use the kitchen and bathroom. Respect is the
key, its his house so don't be an ass.)
- A
positive attitude
(Moodiness, bitchiness, or sudden depression will result in excessive
verbal beat downs)
- No
Drugs - Period - Hey Drugys, it's just three days it will be good for
you to clear your system out.
- From
time to time we have guests that are under age, so because of parental
concerns please do not show any porn on your rig while at the LAN party
- No
smoking at all in the house... Not ever!
- Its
3 days and nights long so sleeping over, using the shower (please) or
spa (Hot Tube) is just fine.
- Bring
money for food runs
- If
you setup a rig don't leave it and bail for a day, stay with it till

I just
wanted to share some of my thoughts and feelings about my LAN experience
so far. To start things off, I have been gaming since the days of Space
Quest and Kommander Keen on 5 1/4 inch floppies and up until the last
LAN I had been gaming by myself. Sure I play in game with my friends,
but that doesn't change the fact that I would be sitting alone in my room
in front of my computer. I have no problems with that and we all know
how fun and addicting it is, but you introduced me to a new atmosphere.
The LAN atmosphere.
Not just any LAN, but what I will refer to as "The TechBattle
in your face LAN mother fucking awesome experience." That seems to
be the only way I can describe how cool, fun, entertaining, exiting and
just down right amazing this has been for me. It is like a Lan party on
steroids. If our computers could, they would go get tattoos and face piercings.
I also feel like there could not be a better group of people to game with.
I was amazed at how cool everybody was when I met them. I can tell there
are people from all walks of life and all with one thing in common: a
passion for gaming. When I see how all these guys react to one another
it is amazing to me the level of acceptance.
Nobody cares about your political views, what your job is, how much money
you have or any other bullshit.
Sure you might get ripped on in a jocular fashion for any of those things,
but that same person would give you the shirt off their back if you really
needed it.
I think I can speak for everyone when I say we appreciate how much you
do to put on a LAN. I agree with Ryan that you going out of the way to
stock food, etc is nice, but that is a luxury we could all easily do without
if it saved you money. As for the furniture, I would gladly come over
3 hours or more early and help set up. As for the women, I have been friends
with Kori long enough to fully agree with Ryan...you're screwed man. But
if you ever need some backup call me up and I'll come to battle. Although
from my own previous experience with other women, I don't know how effective
I'll be in arguing against them. Well I think this email has gone on long
enough and is starting to ramble so I'll end it. Long story
short: LANing kicks ass...LANing with TechBattle.
kicks the most ass of anything that has ever existed in time, space or
consciousness.

Heres a review!
TechBattle.
What can I say? Well, I've been to many lans, and when I say many, I mean
alot. This particular lan group though IS unlike many others that I've
been with. Most lan groups operate as an extension of a clan, that came
together, the feeling in the air not always the friendliest. Most lan
groups consist of people sitting around, doing thier own thing, only staying
in thier own cliqs. TechBattle,
is not like most lan groups. From the moment you enter the door, your
not only a member, but a part of a family, and not in the blah Womens
Entertainment Television way either. Your truly home. All TechBattle
members
invite anyone to join, no matter what kind of person you are, but you
do have to fill in one category. You have to be a gamer. This is something
I've noticed each and every member of TechBattle
holds dear. They don't just game at lans, or just "practice"
for tourneys. They game to game. The atmosphere at TechBattle
is one that can't (in my opinion) be reproduced with out the host. Havok
invites everyone in, with a loud roar and pumps the energy up. For this
man, there are no computers, there are no people. During tech battle,
we all are warriors. Warriors that run along side each other some times,
and warriors that fight against each other when needed. We are all our
own country, but we represent something bigger. Thats what TechBattle
is about.
Its all about screaming at your victim as you destroy thier army before
thier eyes. Its about standing infront of them, mocking them in the most
animated way you can think of. Its about screaming at the top of your
lungs till you can't. And after all of that is said and done, you go out
side and have a cigarette and laugh about what happened. Losing at TechBattle
has been one of my best experiences ever.
Players at TechBattle
don't hide thier secrets to glory either. Its not uncommon for a player
to tell their whole strategy after winning a game, and then telling thier
victim how to stop it. Its all about the fight. At TechBattle,
I've had some skirmish that were as long as 40 mins. and gave me more
of an adreneline rush then anything I've done (Which includes driving
through a hurricane).
All in all, TechBattle
is for gamers. If your a gamer, then come on in, and game on BITCHES!

The
party kicked ass, I think it went totally awesome. Some particularly good
things:
The
new layout you had in the room was great, especially with the hub in the
middle, it gave it a great look and feel of a LAN party. It was also nice
to have everyone so close together (rather than spaced out in multiple
rooms like we did years ago), and yet we each still had plenty of space.
We got started right away Friday night, rather than wasting the whole
first night with setup.
Even though we had some game installation/setup hiccups later (when we
were trying to do Generals on Saturday night) we still got in a huge number
of games overall.
Mixing up the games and teams was a great way to have variety and ensure
we didn't have just one person winning all the time (like when we used
to just play Starcraft for a weekend and basically one person won the
whole time).
So
yeah, the party kicked ass, I had an awesome time.

Tips!
1.
Ally at your own risk (In LAN battle's keep watch on your enemies,
and even closer watch on your "allies". Excessive backstabbing
has been a part of LAN gaming since the dawn of LAN parties.) No matter
what happens to anger you keep it in the game.
2.
No one ever won a RTS game with just a strong defense.
3.
Learn the function Key movements for each game you play, A fast keyboard
leads to fast victory's!
4.
Develop and deploy your army's as fast as you possibly can.
5.
TechBattle's gamers know all about what we
call the third weapon. It at times can be stronger then anything else
in your arsenal. Those who master the third weapon are truly Champions.
But at all times keep it in the game!
Recently
I was asked what was the third weapon: There are 3 Basic weapons to LAN
Gaming.
1.
Strategy
2. Speed of Keyboard movement
3. (And my favorite) Verbal abuse!
The
third weapon is the most powerful, and sometimes it gets really bad....
or good. TechBattle's
rule #1, Say whatever
you want during game play, sometimes it sikes your enemy out. But
never touch anyone in anger
Also
you will need to clear your temporary internet files frequently to see
updates as we are updating this web site daily. In tools bar on top of
your windows explorer select internet options in the general tab delete
both cookies and files then right below it clear history. This will allow
you to see last minute changes.
